SouthernLINC Wireless Named the Official Two-way Wireless Provider for Professional Golf Events

SouthernLINC Wireless is the official two-way wireless provider for two upcoming LPGA Tour events in Alabama. As part of the agreement, wireless service and phones equipped with Push to Talk two-way radio functionality will be provided to organizers of the Bell Micro LPGA Classic and Navistar LPGA Classic.
The Bell Micro LPGA Classic will be held Sept. 8-14, 2008, in Mobile, Ala. on the Crossings Course at Magnolia Grove on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail. Later that month, the second annual Navistar LPGA Classic will be played Sept. 22-28, 2008, in Prattville, Ala. on the Senator Course at Capitol Hill on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail. The tournament will feature a full field of players, including last year’s runner up Stacy Prammanasudh and the world’s No. 1 female player Lorena Ochoa. Both LPGA Tour events will award purses of $1.4 million each and will be televised on The Golf Channel. The final field of players will be named prior to each respective event.
Earlier this year, SouthernLINC Wireless also sponsored the South Georgia Classic, which was held April 28-May 4, 2008 at the Kinderlou Forest Golf Club in Valdosta, Ga. The tournament is part of the PGA Tour’s Nationwide Tour, which began in 1990.
