SouthernLINC Wireless Named Birmingham Barons' Official Wireless Provider

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – April 2, 2008 – SouthernLINC Wireless, a Southern Company (NYSE: SO), today announced it has become the official wireless provider of the Birmingham Barons, the Double-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox.

As part of its sponsorship investment, SouthernLINC Wireless will provide the Barons’ staff with phones – featuring premier Push to Talk two-way radio functionality – and service. Additionally, the SouthernLINC Wireless logo will be prominently displayed on Region Park’s right field wall, in the grandstands, on the scoreboard and on the Barons’ pocket schedule, which is distributed to more than 350,000 people throughout the Birmingham area. SouthernLINC Wireless will also contribute promotional items that will be given away during home games.
