SouthernNLINC Wireless Add Four New Phones

Motorola’s i290, i335, i570 and i876 now available

ATLANTA – January 15, 2008– SouthernLINC Wireless®, a Southern Company (NYSE: SO), added four new Motorola phones to its product portfolio in the fourth quarter of 2007. SouthernLINC Wireless customers may now purchase the Motorola i290, i335, i570 and i876. All phones include SouthernLINC Wireless’ premier Push to Talk two-way radio service, which facilitates instant, reliable and private communications; and all are able to meet the strict military specifications for dust, shock and vibration.

  • The Motorola i290 is the thinnest and lightest phone offered by SouthernLINC Wireless. It features a color screen, GPS capability, a mini USB charger and data port, and an expanded contacts section, allowing for up to 600 entries and 600 speed dial locations.
  • The Motorola i335 is the company’s slimmest phone able to meet U.S. military specifications. It offers a color screen, Bluetooth® technology, GPS capability and a mini USB charger and data port. iTRAK™ – a preloaded Java™ tool that serves as a personal tracking service – is also available on the i335. iTRAK enables users to track small fleets, individuals on foot or single vehicles.
  • The Motorola i570 is a small, ruggedized clam phone. This phone includes one-touch Push to Talk, a sculpted rubber grip for better handling, external caller ID and GPS capability. TeleNav® – a preloaded Java tool – is also available on the i570. TeleNav is a navigation service that provides audible and visual driving directions to mobile phones.
  • The Motorola i876 iis a slim, multimedia flip phone. The i876 includes Zeus Technology, which facilitates processing speeds up to 30 times faster than previous phone models. Additionally, it features Push to Talk backlighting, enhancements for the hearing and visually impaired, picture caller ID and forward-facing stereo speaker ports.
