SouthernLINC Wireless Plans to Launch Motorola i1, World’s First Android-Powered Push To Talk Smartphone

ATLANTA – March 22, 2010 – SouthernLINC Wireless, a Southern Company (NYSE: SO), and Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) today announced plans to launch Motorola i1, the world’s first Push To Talk Android™-Powered smartphone on the Integrated Digital Enhanced Network (iDEN).

Motorola i1 has the sleek look of a touch screen smartphone and the solid dependability that meets Military specifications for protection against dust, shock, vibration and blowing rain1. This feature-rich, multitasking smartphone provides the immediacy of Push To Talk communication with the speed of Wi-Fi® and offers an optimized Web browsing and messaging experience.

The phone’s enhanced multimedia experience includes a 5-megapixel camera with flash, a music player, stereo Bluetooth®2 technology, Google™ mobile services, and video capture and playback. A removable microSD memory card provides storage for up to 32 gigabytes of images, videos and music. Users also have the ability to transfer files, including pictures, videos, music and ringtones, from their computer to the Motorola i1 memory card using the USB drag and drop feature.
