SouthernLINC Wireless Rolls Out New Hurricane-Focused Ad Campaign
New campaign touts carrier’s reliability
ATLANTA – July 15, 2006 – SouthernLINC Wireless®,
the wireless communications service from Southern Company
(NYSE: SO), recently launched its new advertising campaign
with online, radio and print ads appearing in Georgia, Alabama,
Northwest Florida and Southeast Mississippi. The campaign
highlights SouthernLINC Wireless’s network reliability
during hurricanes and severe weather. Atlanta-based advertising
agency Kilgannon created the campaign.
"SouthernLINC Wireless has always been the most reliable
wireless company in hurricane affected regions," said
Rena Kilgannon, principal, Kilgannon. "Our advertising
is designed to reassure customers that they are making the
right decision by going with SouthernLINC Wireless because
of their reliability - particularly in severe weather. The
ad has to effectively communicate that consumers can put their
mind at ease because they're on a wireless system that won't
let them down."
The print ads will appear in business and consumer publications.
The online banner advertisements are scheduled to appear on
Web sites such as weather.com. The radio spots can be heard
on a variety of stations throughout SouthernLINC Wireless’s
footprint.
“The SouthernLINC Wireless system was built to withstand
even the worst conditions and we’ve proven that for
the past 10 years,” said Julie Pigott, vice president
of marketing and customer support. “We have always been
known as a reliable wireless service provider, and the new
ad campaign showcases what we consider to be a key differentiator
in the Southeast.”
SouthernLINC Wireless was created to meet the needs of both
commercial customers and Southern Company’s five power
companies (Alabama Power, Georgia Power, Mississippi Power,
etc.) in 1996. Since its inception, SouthernLINC Wireless
has built in redundancies, power back-ups and security features
designed to ensure the most reliable communications even during
the worst weather conditions.
