SouthernLINC Wireless Added Nine Towers in the Fourth Quarter of 2007

Towers to provide improved coverage in parts of Alabama, Georgia and Mississippi

ATLANTA – January 22, 2008– SouthernLINC Wireless®, a Southern Company (NYSE: SO) announced today that it added nine towers in its service area during the fourth quarter of 2007. The new towers will enhance SouthernLINC Wireless’ coverage in Blacksher, Ala., Curry, Ala., Lyman, Miss., Maysville, Ala., Ramer, Ala., Ranburne, Ala., Scottsboro, Ala., Wadley, Ala. and West Point, Ga.
