SouthernLINC Wireless Adds Construction Segment Manager

ATLANTA – June 20, 2007 – SouthernLINC Wireless, a Southern Company (NYSE: SO), today announced the appointment of Randy Whitmore to the new position of construction segment manager.

Whitmore will be responsible for the acquisition and retention of customers in the construction industry, one of SouthernLINC Wireless’ targeted market segments. SouthernLINC Wireless provides reliable, instant communication between construction managers whose jobs depend on receiving critical information quickly, oftentimes while inside vacant buildings or in remote areas.

Whitmore joined SouthernLINC Wireless in 1999 as a direct account executive and transitioned into data sales in 2002. In 2005, the company recognized him as the Data Sales Executive of the Year. Prior to SouthernLINC Wireless, Whitmore worked in the construction industry as a project manager. In his free time, Whitmore is an active member of the Georgia Sheriff’s and Chief of Police Association and the Emergency Management Association of Georgia.
