SouthernLINC Wireless is in touch with the community. Throughout the year we host events that connect us with neighbors and organizations by participating in rewarding community outreach activities.

SouthernLINC Wireless Presents Movies Under the Stars
We are launching our fourth annual season of Movies Under the Stars, a series of family-oriented films offered for the public to view free of charge at outdoor venues throughout the Southeast. This year’s movie series includes the popular films "Shrek the Third" , "Evan Almighty," and "Bee Movie."

Wireless Safety Tips
You can’t be too careful when talking and driving, so CTIA —The Wireless Association® outlines some helpful tips for operating wireless devices safely while driving:

  • Get to know your wireless device and its features such as speed dial and redial.
  • Dial sensibly and assess the traffic; place calls when you are not moving and not while pulling into traffic.
  • Let the person you are speaking with know you are driving; if necessary, suspend the call in heavy traffic or hazardous weather conditions.
  • Do not take notes or look up phone numbers while driving.
  • Use a headset or hands-free device for convenience and comfort.
  • Do not engage in stressful or emotional conversations that might divert your attention from the road.
  • Dial 911 or other local emergency numbers to report serious emergencies
  • It’s free from your wireless phone.
  • Check your local and state laws regarding use of cellular phones while driving.
We value our customers — That’s why we want you to be safe when using SouthernLINC Wireless!

Hurricane Safety
Hurricane season begins June 1. The Federal Emergency Management Agency offers helpful tips to prepare for hurricane season:

  • Assemble an emergency supplies kit with items such as potable water, canned food, a battery-operated radio, flashlight, first aid and essential medications. Be sure to include extra batteries including cell phone batteries.
  • Keep important documents such as insurance policies, social security cards and bank account information in a waterproof container.
  • Post emergency phone numbers by each phone and teach children how and when to call 911.
  • If an evacuation proves to be necessary, cell phone users can call 511 for real-time traffic and evacuation route updates in your area.
  • Learn to use alternate methods of communication during an emergency, such as Push to Talk or text messaging. Both provide a way to let loved ones know quickly that you and your family are okay.
  • Monitor official weather bulletins on the radio or television.
  • Identify ahead of time where you would go if you are told to evacuate, and consider how your household would stay in contact if you were separated.
  • If you are not advised to evacuate, stay indoors and away from windows. Take refuge in a small interior room, closet or hallway on the lowest level of your home.
  • Close storm shutters and secure yard items such as patio furniture.
  • Turn off utilities if instructed to do so. Otherwise, turn the refrigerator thermostat to its coldest setting to keep food fresh for as long as possible.
